Usage Agreement

Research Advancement ("RA", "the platform") is provided by Hise Scientific Instrumentation for organizing, analyzing and sharing research data. By using it you agree to the following.

Your account

You are responsible for your account and everything done with it. Keep your password private, use a real email address you control, and tell us promptly if you believe your account has been compromised. Accounts are for people — one account per person, not shared logins.

Acceptable use

Use the platform lawfully and for research work. Do not attempt to access other users' private data, probe or disrupt the service, resell access, or upload material you do not have the right to store. Tools you run on the platform execute your own code in isolated environments; that is a feature for analysis, not an invitation to abuse the compute.

Your content

Datasets, documents, tools and everything else you create or upload remain yours. You grant us only the license needed to store, process and display that content back to you and to the people you share it with. Sharing is always something you do explicitly; nothing is public unless you publish it.

The service

We work to keep the platform available and your data safe. Analytical results produced by tools are only as good as their inputs and methods — verify anything you rely on. We may change or discontinue features with reasonable notice.

As-is service and limitation of liability

The platform is provided "as is" and "as available", without warranties of any kind, express or implied, including merchantability, fitness for a particular purpose, and non-infringement. We do not warrant that the service will be uninterrupted, error-free, or that results produced by tools are accurate or suitable for any particular use.

To the maximum extent permitted by law, Hise Scientific Instrumentation is not liable for any indirect, incidental, special, consequential, or exemplary damages — including lost data, lost profits, or research losses — arising from your use of or inability to use the platform. Our total liability for any claim relating to the service is limited to the amount you paid us for the service in the twelve months before the claim arose.

Termination

You may close your account at any time. We may suspend or terminate accounts that violate these terms. On termination you may request an export of your data within a reasonable period.

Changes

We may update these terms; material changes will be announced on the platform. Continued use after a change is acceptance of the updated terms.

AI Policy

Hise Scientific Instrumentation, LLC — Effective October 6, 2026

1. Scope

This policy covers everything you store in Research Advancement ("RA"): datasets, documents, experiments (including replicates and discussions), tool script source code, tool parameters and the values you run them with, uploaded files, and outputs produced by running tools.

2. No AI training on your content

We do not use your content — in whole, in part, anonymized, or aggregated — to train, fine-tune, evaluate, or improve any artificial-intelligence or machine-learning model, ours or anyone else's.

3. No AI services without your consent

We do not send your content to any AI service unless you explicitly request it for a specific piece of content. Features that do so say so where you use them.

4. Your tools are yours

Scripts and parameters you author are your intellectual property. We do not analyze, mine, or reuse them to build features or models for other customers.

Data Use Policy

Hise Scientific Instrumentation, LLC — Effective October 6, 2026

1. Scope

This policy covers all content you create or upload in RA: datasets, documents, experiments and replicates, tool script source code, tool parameters, tool run outputs, discussions, and private notes.

2. You own your data

You retain all ownership of and rights to your content. We claim no ownership and take no license to it beyond what is necessary to store it, display it to you, and perform the operations you request.

3. We do not share your data

We do not sell, rent, publish, disclose, or otherwise share your content with any third party, and we never grant access to another customer or organization.

4. You decide who has access

• Your content is visible only to you unless you share it.
• You choose whom to share with — specific colleagues at read or edit level, or everyone in your organization — and can revoke access at any time.
• External links you create to share content are created and revoked only by you.
• Our staff do not access your content except with your explicit permission, for example to help with a support request.

5. Processing on your behalf

RA is hosted on servers in the United States. When you run a tool, your selected data and script are sent to our execution server — operated by us — solely to produce the results you requested; nothing remains on the execution server after the run completes, and inputs and outputs exist only within RA. Features that send content to any outside service do so only at your explicit request and are described where you use them.

6. Deletion

When you delete content, it is removed from the active system immediately and ages out of backups within six months. Deleting an organization removes all of its content.

7. Legal requests

We disclose content only when compelled by valid legal process, and where legally permitted we will notify you first.

8. Changes

We will post updates here and notify account holders of material changes before they take effect.
